Donald Edward Baker was born on May 21, 1941 in Belton, MO as the first child to Leta and Alva Baker. He passed away June 14, 2025 at his home in El Dorado Springs, MO at the age of 84.
Donald grew up, went to school, and graduated in Collins, MO. His first job was with Joe Richardson’s Automotive as a mechanic. Don married on July 27, 1965 and to their union they had 2 daughters, Kim and Amber. Don entered in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. In his civilian life, he worked at Fugate Motors as a Ford mechanic for 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed the great outdoors. Hunting, fishing and trapping occupied much of his time. In his later years, he grew very fond of gardening and was proud of his produce. His daughters have many fond memories target shooting with him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jerry Baker.
Don is survived by Kim and John Whitesell of Lockwood, Amber and Donavon Jenkins of Willard, his best friend Betty Jacobs of the home, and a sister JoAnn Krebs of Sugar Creek, 3 grandkid, Kesha Hurley and husband David, Dakota Patterson, and Tristen Patterson, 3 great-grandchildren Gavin, Sawyer, and Hendrix Hurley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don will be greatly missed.
