Sue Kathryn (Gass) Baldwin, age 93, of Collins, Missouri passed away on January 6, 2024. Sue was born in Sleeper, Missouri on October 27, 1930. After moving to Kansas City with her family as a teenager, she met and dated her beloved, Charles E. Baldwin. They were married on June 18, 1948, in the front room of his parent’s home. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, devoted pastors’ wife and a LPN nurse at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee and Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Baldwin; parents: Claude and Effie Gass; brothers: Frank, Clarence, and Willie Gass; sisters: Juanita Ellis, Viola Anderson, and Artle Jane Gass, and beloved daughter-in-law, Fran K. Baldwin.
She is survived by sons: John C. Baldwin (Glenda), Paul W. Baldwin (Timpia); daughters: Claudia S. Jaeger (David), Mary Feurtado (Jack), 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Sue enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and her winter passion was quilting. She loved to go hear and see Handel’s Messiah, with the orchestra and 250 voice choir at the Kauffman Center in Kansas City. She loved playing the grand ole hymns of our faith on her piano and of course, classical music. Most of all she loved her family and preparing a formal beautiful meal with her antique dishes. She will be missed beyond measure, but she was so ready to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face.
