Everett Elbert Barksdale, 86, Lowry City, Missouri, passed away on December 6, 2025.
He was born on November 2, 1939 in Hickman Mills, Missouri, to Forrest and LaMyrna (Keller) Barksdale.
Everett was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served from August 1963 to July 1965.
After many years at Progressive Manufacturing, he retired in August of 1998. It was amazing to hear about his work as a machinist.
He also loved his time as a volunteer on the Osceola Sheriff’s Patrol.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and LaMyrna (Keller) Barksdale; sisters Velva McKenney and Barbara Bowin; as well as his first wife Wilma (Judy) Barksdale, whom he welcomed two daughters with, as well as one of their own.
He is survived by his wife, Mavis Barksdale of the home, along with a blended family of five daughters and four sons, as well as NUMEROUS grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Everett always had us laughing because he was a great story teller. Maybe he exaggerated a little, but they were always entertaining.
Life won’t be the same without him, but he will always be in our hearts.

January 20, 2026 at 11:18 amI’m so sorry to hear this. I did Mavis and Everetts hair in Collins. He will be greatly missed. Please give Miss Mavis a hug for me. I didn’t know until I tried calling out of concern that I haven’t heard from them .
