Elmer Lloyd Gustave Becker Jr. II passed away on November 9, 2024, at St. Luke’s hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on April 6,1968, Elmer grew up in a loving family. He attended Odessa schools and graduated from Odessa High School in 1986 before furthering his education at Park College with degrees in finance and economics.
Elmer was well known in his community both for his athleticism and his coaching skills. He was awarded College All-American and won multiple National Championships in race walking. Elmer was instrumental as an Assistant Coach for the St. Pius High School girls volleyball team, leading them to a state championship victory.
Beyond his love of sports, Elmer was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and recalling his high school days playing football and wrestling. Described by his friends as generous and trusting, Elmer’s kind-hearted nature touched many lives. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend.
His commitment to community was reflected in his membership with the Masonic Lodge, where he shared his time and skills generously with his brother Masons, even serving as Worshipful Master.
In 2016, Elmer started a career at JCI in Lee’s Summit, Missouri where he worked as a Senior Motor Technician. He was well respected for his willingness to lend a hand and share his knowledge with others.
Elmer is survived by his daughter, Abigail Becker of Brooklyn, New York; son, Alexander Becker of Warrensburg, Missouri; sister, Linda Kahle (Paul) of Armstrong, Missouri; brothers Dean (Lora) of Odessa, Missouri and Leonard Becker of Mayview, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Becker; mother, Charlotte Becker; and sister, Karen Athon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Taberville Cemetery in memory of Elmer. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
