Zada Marie Brown was born December 29, 1927 in Osceola, Missouri to Wesley and Neva (Burrow) Wheeler. She went on to her heavenly home November 9, 2020 at the Community Springs Care Center in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
She graduated from Osceola High School in 1946 and attended college in Warrensburg, Missouri. Zada taught school in rural Osceola until marrying her high school sweetheart, Charles Morris Brown. This union was bless with four children, LaRoy, Jack, Carl and Phyllis. They were married fifty plus years until his death in 2004.
Zada was saved and baptized at an early age. She lived with her family in Urich, Missouri as a child. When she and Charley moved the family out west, they were two of eight founding members responsible for the establishment of the First Baptist Church of Moah, Utah. Upon returning to Missouri they faithfully attended Vista Baptist Church. Zada could always be found working in the church they attended.
She spent many years teaching Sunday School and Bible School in the summer. Her sweet spirit was always a blessing to the children and all who knew her. After some time, she and Charley joined Bear Creek Methodist. They served where they saw a need and where God could be glorified.
After moving back to Missouri and the farm, Charley worked at Clearfield Cheese and then Armco Steel in Kansas City. Zada loved living in the city. She was very involved in Immanuel Baptist in Independence, Missouri.
Zada was a wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend to all. Her helpful hands and loving, caring ways will be missed by all who knew her. The angels are rejoicing as another of God’s servants is welcomed home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Phyllis Tedrick; one brother, Tom Wheeler; 2 sisters, Artalee Harris and Bonny Gardner.
Zada is survived by her sons, LaRoy Brown and wife Beverly of Lamont, Illinois, Jack and wife Kathy of Osceola, Missouri, Carl of Harrisonville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, Burleigh Wheeler and wife Doris of Osceola, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
