Butcher, Robert “Bob” Lee

Robert “Bob” Lee Butcher of Humansville, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 87.  After several months of declining health, Bob died peacefully with his beloved wife Jeannie and their children by his side.

He was born in Humansville, Missouri on February 9, 1934 to Harry and Nellie Butcher.  Bob attended school at Humansville.  After high school he married Shirley Mead Shuler on July 4, 1954.  They moved to Kansas City, Missouri and Bob found employment at TWA later working at Wittaker Cable Cooperation.  To this union was born one child, Donna Ann Butcher.  In 1957 they moved back and Bob joined his father’s business, Butcher and Sons Construction.  Shirley preceded him in death on April 13, 1962.  On June 10, 1966 he married Jeannie Baumgardner and to this union was born one child, Kevin Lee Butcher.  At an early age Bob was saved and became a member of the Christian Church of Humansville.

In the late 60’s he started his backhoe business and in 1968 he started digging graves until 1994.  He quit the backhoe service in 2004.  Bob eventually sized the business down to a skid loader and dump truck.

Bob had many hobbies throughout the years including hunting, fishing, Harleys and his antique car collection.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Nellie Butcher; sisters, Betty Green and Maxine Grimes; nephew, Robert Green and grandson-in-law, Dennis Coffin.

Bob is survived by his wife Jeannie, of the home; daughter, Donna Butcher LeAn and husband Darrell LeAn of Humansville, Missouri; son Kevin Butcher and wife Denise Laughlin of Humansville, Missouri; grandchildren, Rae Ann Coffin and husband Donald Braa, Darrell LeAn, Jr and wife Kris, Jen Gilmore and Kaylee Butcher; great grandchildren, Robert Lee Coffin and wife Shayla, Jordan Derossett and husband Nathan, Allie Hargis, Lane LeAn, Alexis Coffin, Angel Gilmore, Aniston LeAn, Logan Mills, Isaiah Mills, Peyton LeAn, Karson Smith; great-great grandchildren, Ian Derossett and August Coffin, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
