William “Bill” Smith Cameron was born on February 14, 1948, in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 7, 2025, at Lowry City Manor in Lowry City, Missouri, where he had resided since October 2024. Bill was 77 years old. Prior to entering Lowry City Manor, Bill lived in El Dorado Springs, Missouri with his wife, Regina.
Bill grew up in Trooper, Pennsylvania with his parents, William S. Cameron Sr. and Stella Zawislack Cameron. He graduated from Methacton High School before enlisting and serving two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, where he worked on tanks.
After returning home, Bill worked at Explo-Tech in Norristown, hauling explosives for 14 years. It was there he met the love of his life, Regina, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania. He later hauled raw milk to Brooklyn, NY, for several years with Pelton Trucking. His trucking career involved long hours, but some of his fondest memories came from the times his kids—Kyle, John, and Heather—rode along beside him. Their laughter, curiosity, and simple presence turned long hauls into lasting memories.
Bill had a deep love for horses, longhorn cattle, and leather working, and he was rarely seen without his well-worn cowboy boots and hat. A cowboy at heart, he often said he was “born 100 years too late,” and he meant it. His quiet strength and enduring love for the land guided many of his life’s choices. At the age of 50, Bill fulfilled a long-held dream by moving his family out west to Virgil City, Missouri, embracing ranch life with the same determination and heart that defined him.
His career as a trucker carried him across the country, giving him a front-row seat to the beauty and quiet corners of America. Even after cancer brought his trucking career to a close, he stayed active as the manager of Woody’s Mobile Home Park in El Dorado Springs for several years. Despite health challenges in his later years, Bill lived life with a quiet strength and a deep faith in Jesus Christ, his Savior.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Stella Cameron and his infant brother.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Regina Cameron; his children: Richard Cameron of Pennsylvania, Kyle Cameron and his wife, Michelle; John Cameron and his wife, Brandie; Heather Reasoner and her husband, Joel, all of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; and his beloved grandchildren: Lexi, Layla, Chloe, Jake, and Kaelan.
A memorial service will be held at Blue Ridge Church, 10285 SW Hwy 82, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the service following at 2:00 p.m. Bill will be remembered for his unwavering faith, cowboy spirit, and a life well-traveled and well-lived. He is now united with other believers in peace and delight.
