Chapman, Mary Louise

Mary Louise Doty Chapman, born on July 27th, 1925 was the joyous child of Nellie Kalberloh Doty and Wallace Doty. She was a much loved only child who grew up on a farm in Lowry City. She graduated from Lowry City High School and married Arvel Elmo, (Buck), Chapman. Buck became a Navy test pilot and they spent the early days of their marriage traveling all over the country wherever he was posted. When his service ended, he and Mary moved to Kansas City where they raised their two daughters, Karen and Beverly. They have two grandchildren, Sage Arnote and Heather Arnote Groh and one great grandchild, Hunter Arnote.

Buck died in 2014, shortly after the couple celebrated their 70th anniversary. By that time they had moved back to Lowry City where Mary lived until her death on February 24th. She led a life filled with faith, friends, laughter and love. We will mourn the loss of a woman who could light up a room with her smile and had a child-like sense of adventure and fun.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Landaker Cemetery in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home. Those can be mailed to P.O. Box 384, in Osceola, Missouri 64776.
