She met and married Jack Edward Clark on April 17th, 1953, in Ottawa, Kansas. One of Jacks proudest moments for Doris was that he spent many nights riding in rodeos to put her through school to follow her dreams.

Doris enjoyed reading books and playing bingo, crocheting, knitting and volunteering at Alice Clothes Closet with her friends that were more like family to her. When Doris was able she loved to bake, especially around the holidays. It really made her day to play slot machines and have a great time. After Jack and Doris were married they moved to Kansas City, MO where she worked at Standard Oil Company as a key punch operator and then they transferred her to Des Moines, IA where she retired. Soon after her retirement her and Jack moved to Roscoe, MO.

Jack and Doris had 6 children: Darlene Edwards of Texas, Patsy Peeler of Belton, MO, Jack Edward Clark Jr. of Roscoe, MO,Nancy Romi (Thomas) of Kansas City, MO and 2 infants that passed away at birth. Doris was a member of Tipton church for many years. She gained many lifelong friendships while attending the church services.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Jack Clark, her daughter Nancy Romi, 2 infant sons: Jimmie Dale Clark and Jerry Lee Clark, a grand-daughter Kluadia Vandivier, a nephew Allen Clark, a niece Cora Bell Brown, her brothers: John Bussell, Paul Bussell, Bill Bussell and Ed Bussell, her sister Liz Case. Doris lost her home recently to a fire and in that fire she lost her companion dog Maci Lou-Lou.

I’ll never forget everything Uncle Jack (Uncle Sue) and Aunt Doris did for me, growing up. Aunt Doris was funny, loving, sassy, and “the boss”. Which I just loved! She was the rock and the glue that kept family together. I didn’t get to see her before she passed, and I regret that. But, Aunt Doris, please know that I love you, and will be forever grateful for everything! You will be missed forever. Give Uncle “Sue” big hugs for me. I love you always! My thoughts and prayers are with all.
