Glenda Gale Bowen was born on December 22, 1945 to Orrin and Alpha (Dillsaver) Bowen in the state of Washington. She was raised most of her life by her second Dad, Elmer Schindler, who instilled in her many Christian values from an early age. She graduated from Roseburg High School in Oregon in 1964.
Glenda Gale (fondly known as G.G.) was married to Marshall Curran in Roseburg, Oregon. Children born to this union were Shawn (born in 1968) and Dustin (who was adopted in 1974). Later she married Mike Cole in 1976, and Kelby was born in March, 1978.
G.G. accepted Christ as her Savior at a very young age. She then became a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. G.G. taught piano, organ and voice lessons for most of her adult life. She was very involved in the church, coordinator for Missionettes, played the piano/organ and sang worship songs. She later became an ordained pastor along with her husband Mike and together they led a home church for several years.
Anyone who had the honor of knowing G.G. was truly blessed. She touched so many lives and was a rock of unconditional love. She was what you might call the salt of the earth, a true Godly woman, a second mom to some, a true friend to many, a loving wife, precious grandmother, and the greatest mom her sons could ever wish for. She will be missed beyond measure as she was loved by so many.
There will be a viewing on July 2, 2024, at Sheldon Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs, MO from 9 to 10 am followed by the funeral at 10 am.. The internment will be at Hazel-Dell Cemetery following the funeral service. Lunch will be served for family and friends at the Optimist Club in El Dorado Springs.
Donations (checks or cash) for expenses will be appreciated and will be accepted at the funeral home or checks can be made out personally to “Mike Cole”.
