With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Larry Eugene Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Larry, born May 28, 1945, peacefully departed this life on March 25, 2025, at 11:50 AM at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Larry’s life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to family and his deep faith. He was a proud veteran, having served in the Army during the late 1960s, a period that undoubtedly shaped his character and instilled in him a strong sense of duty and loyalty. His professional life was equally diverse and reflective of his tireless work ethic. He spent many years as a truck driver, contributing to the vital networks that connect our communities. His career also took him to Motts in Rockville, Dairy Concepts, and Brown Elementary in Nevada, before finding fulfillment in his later years at a car wash in El Dorado Springs.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Larry found immense joy in the simple things: tinkering with cars, casting a line for a relaxing day of fishing, and most importantly, cherishing time with his beloved wife, Karen, and daughters, Angela and Tammy. The twinkle in his eye and the sound of his laughter would light up any room, and his grandchildren, Paige and Davis, held a special place in his heart. These were the moments that truly defined his life—moments filled with love, laughter, and an abundance of cherished memories.
His faith journey began in 1969 during a revival in Monegaw Springs, marking a significant turning point in his life. His unwavering belief in God guided him and profoundly impacted his family and the many people whose lives he touched. He shared his faith with quiet grace and genuine enthusiasm, always eager to spread the message of hope and kindness.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Otis (Bud) and Maxine Davis. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Karen; his daughters, Angela Lasley and Tammy Floyd; his sons-in-law, Troy and Jason; his grandchildren, Paige Floyd of Nevada, Missouri, and Davis Floyd of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; his three sisters; and a vast network of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those who knew Larry will remember him not only for his unwavering kindness and generosity but also for his infectious humor and playful spirit. He was the quintessential jokester, the life of every party, a man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He possessed a rare combination of strength, compassion, and humility that made him a truly exceptional individual. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
