Dennis Paul Braden November 7, 1948 - August 25, 2026

Dennis Paul Braden was born November 7, 1948 at Dimmit Memorial Hospital in Humansville, Missouri with Dr. Robinson attending. He was the second son born to Robert Kennith Braden and Ermidine (Truitt) Braden. Dennis attended Collins School all 12 years, graduating in May of 1966. He helped on the family farm planting and harvesting crops, hauling hay, and milking cows. Dennis lived all his life around Collins, Missouri and most of it was spent on his mom’s family farm which has been in the Truitt family for many generations.

On March 18, 1967 Dennis and Janice Mitchell were united in marriage at the Collins Christian Church by Rev. Bybee. In 1969 they welcomed their first son Kenneth Lee, daughter Karen Marie in 1972, and another son Kevin Dale in 1977.

Dennis raised feeder pigs in his early years. He worked at Witt Printing in Humansville, Missouri. Probably the jobs he loved the most were working for Doc Sprowls out of Humansville, and veterinarians Dr. Cramer and Dr. Whitesell in Stockton, Missouri. Dennis ran his own construction business and in his later years bred dogs and sold puppies.

After a motorcycle accident in the seventies, Dennis was in a body cast. While he recouped at home, Dennis passed the time painting wooden Christmas ornaments and sewed quilt blocks together on a portable sewing machine that was brought bedside. Dennis was very talented and could create anything. He made a lot of yard ornaments out of metal and had a green thumb for growing flowers.

Dennis loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, snagging, deer hunting and coon hunting.

This spring Dennis found out he had prostate cancer which had traveled to his bones. After completing 20 radiation treatments Dennis decided he wasn’t strong enough to stay at home. On August 3 rd he went to Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility for some rehabilitation. He passed away there in the early morning hours of August 25, 2026.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Robert (4/22/1985) and Ermidine Braden (12/3/2016), his oldest son Kenneth Lee Braden (12/5/2020), his son-in-law Mitch Warmbrodt (11/7/2022), his great grandson Lane Johnson (11/13/2022), and his sister-in-law Evelyn Braden (4/8/2025).

Dennis is survived by his older brother Bobbie Dean Braden, daughter Karen Warmbrodt, son Kevin Braden; grandchildren Faith Ryan, Michayla (Jake) Cone, Jade Warmbrodt and Braden Warmbrodt; great grandchildren Brylee, Grayson, Draycee, Colson, Kaleesi; nephew and niece Phillip Braden and family and Teresa Garver and family, cousins and friends. Although he and Janice were divorced, they remained friendly.

Dennis’s wishes were to be cremated with the burial of his ashes at the Holsapple Cemetery in Collins, Missouri.
