Dill, Bill July 2, 1934 - December 3, 2016

William “Bill” Dill was born July 2, 1934 in Mayes County, Oklahoma to Clinton and Bessie (Abbott) Dill. He passed away December 3, 2016 at his home in his sleep while laying next to his wife of 63 years, Betty.

Bill, also known as Pick enjoyed farming and tree trimming before joing Boilermakers Local 83. He traveled and worked as a boilermaker for 38 years and chose to retire in 1991.

He married Betty (Cameron) on April 20, 1953. They lived in Kansas City, Missouri where they had three children, Bobby, Connie, and Billy. They moved to Osceola, Missouri where Danny was born.

Bill was very involved with his family and community. He also had a reputation for being able to fix anything. He had a love for animals and on his farm you would often see chickens, quail, cows, horses and donkeys. He had a wagon he built by hand, that he took on the Butterfield Wagon Trail Ride. This was a yearly trip and he would ride over one thousand miles. His involvement with the community included establishing Friends of Brush Creek with his brother, Jim Dill. He was also a longtime member of the St. Clair County Masonic Lodge 273. Bill was also a member of the Osceola Community Church. Music was very important to him. He played the fiddle with the Ozark Ridge Runners. He passed his love for music on to his children and the rest of his family. Music was always present at family events.. Throughout his lifetime he had many hobbies such as target shooting and hunting turkey and coons. In his younger years he was a boxer and won several awards.

After Betty’s stroke 2 years ago Misty Ketner came into the picture. She has taken care of Betty and Bill with the most wonderful care. Her family has provided lots of love and support to the Dill family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Judy Marie; brother, Lester Dill and wife Edna; sisters, Mary Buckley and Opal Bailey.

He is survived by his wife Betty; sons Bobby (Elsie), Billy (Judy) and Danny (Judy); daughter, Connie (Bill) Brown; grandchildren, Brian VanSickel, Kimberly Dill, Wade Hart, Callie Lampton, Melissa Shaetz, Crystal Kraayenbrink, Justin Dill, Casey Dill, Alicia Dill, Chelsea Dill, Danielle Dill, Clinton Dill, Melissa Abenduth, Christina Mitchell, William Jenkins, Bethany Pender, Jake Brown, Jared Brown, 36 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
