Dody, Alvin R. August 17, 1938 - July 18, 2025

Alvin R. Dody passed away July 18, 2025 at his home in El Dorado Spring, MO. He was born  August 17, 1938 to Roy and Della Dody. He grew up in the Taberville Community. He graduated from Appleton City High School.

Alvin was saved when he was a teenage boy and was a member of the El Dorado Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

After graduation he worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City for a period of time, then returned to Taberville and worked for the International Shoe Co. for a number of years.

Alvin joined the National Guard in 1961 and served through 1967.

On August 11, 1961 he married Donnie Jo Hudson and they made their home in El Dorado Springs, MO.

In 1978 Alvin and his brother James Dody opened Dody’s TV and Appliance Store where he worked and operated it for 24 years.  After retiring in 2005 he enjoyed working on his farm and being with his grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Proceeding him in death was his parents, and his brothers Donald Dody and James Dody.

Alvin is survived by his wife  Donnie Jo of the home, his sons Kevin and wife Penelope, Darren and wife Janna, Grandchildren Lainey Dody and Kole Dody, sister Mary and husband Ronald Purtle, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
