Donna Lee Smith Naegelin, 71, of Collins, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025. Born on September 28, 1953, Donna devoted her life to helping others-first as a Registered Nurse, and later as a Disability Specialist with the Social Security Administration.
She grew up in Independence, Missouri, and eventually settled in Collins, where she found joy and purpose caring for her horses and embracing the quiet beauty of country life.
Donna was an avid traveler and passionate motorcyclist, known for her adventurous spirit and boundless curiosity. She shared many unforgettable journeys with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob Naegelin; her brother and sister-in-law, Ike and Kathy Smith; her nephew, Chris Smith; and her stepdaughter, Sally Jungman. Donna also leaves behind Sally’s family, including five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all whom were were touched by her warmth and wisdom.
A memorial service to honor Donna’s life will be announced at a later date.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
