Duncan, Bonnie J.

Bonnie was born on 5 April 1942 in Price, Carbon County, Utah to Lucian Ide
and Florence Barbara (Webb) Ide. Bonnie loved her parents and has spoken
about their reunion often with joy and anticipation. She departed mortality on
26 October 2021 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in
Bolivar, Polk County, Missouri.
She grew up on the family farm near Wellington, in Carbon County. She had
many fond memories of farm life with riding horses and milking cows being
favorites. She attended local schools and was in the first graduating class of
Mont Harmon High School in Price, May of 1960.
On 12 March 1960, two months prior to graduation, she married her
sweetheart, David Roscoe Duncan. They are the parents of Willard “L”
Duncan, Teresa Lynn Hamilton, David Roscoe Duncan Jr, Kenneth Paul
Duncan, Lucian Frank Duncan, and Barbara Anne Daly and “daughter in a
grand way” Cheryl Ann Duncan Candelario, the biological daughter of
Kenneth Paul Duncan. Bonnie and Dave are the grandparents of 22 and the
great grandparents of 28 with two more
great grandchildren expected in the near future.
Wanting to help support the family financially, and due to her love for God and
love for His children, childcare was a natural fit for her. In Oxnard, California
when her son Willard was 5 years of age, her first assignment was a 3yr old
boy, Robin Gibson, son of Jane Barber that lived in the adjoining duplex. This
began a 41-year career in childcare. Bonnie cared for multiple generations of
families, providing childcare for children of children, previously watched. Her
babysitting career concluded in 2007 in Paonia, Colorado shortly after Dave’s
retirement from Delta County Sheriff’s Office in Delta, Colorado.
Bonnie and Dave lived with and were cared for by Cheryl, Fred, and their
children in Colorado until May 2019. They then relocated to El Dorado
Springs, Cedar County, Missouri to live with their son Ross (David Jr.) and
family.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters; Luella Barbara (Ide)
Johnson, Audrey Sarah (Ide) Drake, Eva Deon (Ide) LaValley, her brother
James Franklin Ide, and Infant brother.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, all her children and her sister
Patricia (Ide) Willson.
Bonnie will be buried in The Lodge Cemetery at Anchored Farms of
El Dorado Springs, Cedar County, Missouri on 1 November 2021.
