David Charles Galvan was born on January 3, 1991, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Palma Christiansen and Arthur Galvan. He was raised with his siblings; Ilene, Isaac, and later, Lilli, surrounded by love, laughter, and family. David graduated from high school in Canyon, Texas, and was known from a young age for his bright spirit, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone in need.
As a boy, David was always ready to lend a hand—whether it was helping his dad, his Grandma Mary, his mom, or his brother and sisters. He had a natural gift for bringing people together and making ordinary moments feel special. One of his passions was music. He loved to rap and write lyrics, and some of the best memories were made when he and his sister Ilene, along with their cousin Samantha Garcia, would hang out, laughing, listening to music, and rapping together.
Their home was filled with energy, love, and music—and the kind of laughter that makes life rich. Palma, Ilene, Isaac, and Samantha all remember those times fondly—listening to music, talking for hours, and simply being together.
David and his siblings shared many adventures growing up, including long summer days spent riding bikes until sunset—memories that will forever live in their hearts. His mother, Palma, holds especially close to her heart the memory of a recent family outing to Golden Corral—a simple day made special just by being together.
David and Ilene were especially close. They grew up side by side, even sharing the same grade in school. They protected one another fiercely. Ilene recalls a time when David got into a fight, and without hesitation, she jumped in to help him. Today, she wishes she could have protected him in that same way as an adult—a reflection of their deep and unbreakable bond.
Palma remembers her son’s strong, dependable nature—like the time he helped her move and took charge of the entire process, finishing everything in a single day. Helping others wasn’t just something David did—it was part of who he was. Isaac remembers their fishing trips together, followed by fish fries, that brought joy to everyone. Isaac says David was a great fisherman—patient, skillful, and happy just to share those moments.
David had a big heart. His presence could brighten any room, and his hugs—warm and genuine—will be deeply missed.
He had a way of making others feel loved, understood, and cared for, simply by being himself.
David was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Galvan; great grandfathers, Natividad Garcia and George Scales; great grandmothers, Annie Garcia and Thelma Scales; grandmother Jane Wilson; uncles, Anthony Galvan, Danny White Jr., Johnny “Roach” Garcia, and Freddy Garcia; and his niece, Leah Gutirrez.
He is survived by his loving mother, Palma Christiansen; his brother, Isaac Galvan; sisters Ilene and Lilli Galvan; nieces Heaven Galvan, Juliet Diaz, Sophia Garcia, and Mila Garcia; nephews, Michael and Jayden Garcia; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory.
David will live on through each of us—in our hearts, our laughter, our stories, and our love. Though his time with us feels far too short, his light continues to shine through the lives he touched and the memories we hold dear.
