Garver, Katherine December 23, 1938 - December 11, 2022

Katherine Jane Garver was born December 23, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard M. and Mary F. (Schadel) Page. She left her earthly life on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Golden Years Rehab Facility in Harrisonville after a short battle with cancer.

Kathie graduated from Osceola High School in 1956 and in December of 1956, she married Don Quaintance of Gerster. To this union three children were born: Larry, Terry and Lori. After divorcing, a few years later, they both remarried. On November 4, 1971, Kathie married the love of her life, Robert L. Garver. To this union became a happy family of nine with the addition of Bob’s children Sandy, Sharon, Debbie, and Bobby. Kathie and Bob spent many active years with the Sac Osage VFW and Auxiliary Post 4197 in Osceola. Both serving terms as President and Commander. Her favorite pastimes included reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and working in her yard, garden and flower beds when she was able. She also enjoyed picking up and picking out pecans and was fondly known as the “nut lady.”

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, and her younger brother Frank Dale Page, along with her husband Bob Garver, her son Bobby Garver, grandson Timothy Middleton, and granddaughter Allyson Hoots.

She is survived by her children: Sandy and Chuck Saunders of Lawson, Larry and Jean Quaintance of Round Lake Beach, FL, Terry and Cindy Quaintance of Kansas City, MO, Sharon and Brian Hoots of Butler, Debbie Peden and Gary McCrea of Osceola, Lori Bumsted and husband Myron of Osceola and Macks Creek, a brother Richard L. Page and his wife Karen of San Diego, CA, nephew Rich Page and wife Nancy of San Diego, CA, sister-in-law Brenda and Ross Chambers, sister-in-law Joyce Breeden of Warrensburg, grandchildren: Amy Hoots of Harrisonville, Rob Garver and wife Allison of Kirksville, Emily and Nicholas Lopez of Clever, Kendall and Chris Devore of Raytown, Jerry Quaintance and Rico McElfish of Kansas City, Lyndsay Middleton of Kansas City, great-grandchildren: Emmakohl Bourland-Garver, Della Garver, Tegan Quaintance and baby brother on the way in January, Quinn Devore, Jack Hoots of Hermitage area, Leo Gregg and Marshall Ohler of Harrisonville, Julia Holler of Richmond, Dylan, Samantha, and Zander DeVore, Malachi, Addilie, and Kason Lopez, and Kathie’s dear friend Kathy Potts of Osceola, as well as many other special relatives, and many, many friends.
