Jeanie Gail (Masten) Helm was born May 20, 1966 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri to Dale and Ellie Masten. She was their second child born from this union. She passed away June 2, 2025 in Monegaw Springs, Missouri.
Jeanie started school at Eastwood Elementary in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by Topping Elementary in Kansas City, Missouri. Then her family moved south to the family farm, where she attended Roscoe Elementary, graduating from Osceola High School in 1984.
Jeanie was always one to have a bubbly and giggly personality. Many times getting in trouble at school for her giggle habits. Jeanie worked many jobs from working at the Boy Scout Camp, Woods Supermarket, and attended heavy operators school and became a heavy equipment operator for 17 years at MODOT. She spent many days and nights pushing snow and driving her mower.
She married the love of her life Mike in October 1991, and to that union Tori JaNae was born in 1994. With this union Jeanie also gained 3 loving bonus children: Michael, Zak, and Lacy.
Mike and Jeanie were friends to many and loved by all. You could catch her participating in a fund raiser to help a friend, to Friday night steak night at the Eagles, and looking forward to her Tuesday night date nights with her daddy at the VFW for jam sessions. If a good band was playing a sweet two step you could find her and Mike on the dancefloor. They truly loved to dance with each other.
When Miss Tori JaNae came along, their family was whole and complete. She was the apple of her momma and her daddy’s eye. Jeanie had met her mini me, for certain, and that made her heart full.
Jeanie had many loves, her family highest on the list, friends that were more like family, her horse Sin, and puppy Chooch, but most of all, Jeanie was loved in return by all who knew her. Her smile was contagious.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life Mike (Hamer) Helm, her baby girl Tori JaNae and her mother Ellie Masten.
Jeanie is survived by her daddy Dale Masten, siblings: Daleen (Rusty) Todd, Justin (Tina) Masten, Ernie (Lonny) Offield, her bonus kids Mike Helm, Zak Helm, and Lacy (Justin) Trowbridge, nieces and nephews Josh (Destany) Barre, Cassidy (Dennis) Franklin, Madison Offield, Bevan Ames, Cory (Elizabeth) Ames, Jake ( Kaili) Masten, and Katie Masten, as well as her bonus children– to many to mention where she was known as Mama Jeanie and later became NeNe. She also leaves behind many friends whom she loved dearly and her dogs Tike and Fozzie.
Jeanie is now dancing with her two favorite loves, Hamer and Tori.
