King, John Robert January 8, 1942 - November 1, 2015

John Robert King was born January 8, 1942 to Alfred and Ruth King of Marshfield, Missouri. He was the 3rd born of 11 children. He passed away November 1, 2015 at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

He worked for Missouri Water Company of Independence, Missouri for 15 years. Before his career with the Missouri Water Company he worked in the Construction industry.

John married Dorothy Jones on April 9th, 1971. To this union John Ryan King was born and a step-son, Allen Gregory. John had two children from his first marriage, Janet and Robert

He loved to play guitar and sing at his beloved church, the Freedom Chapel Baptist Church near Urbana, Missouri where he was a member since 1987. He loved to attend church there, where he could freely worship his God and Savior Jesus Christ.

John loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids his skills of building things and working on small engines. John wanted his love of his Lord and knowledge to be passed on to others.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leo, Willard and Roger King and 2 sisters, Bruxie Roach and Evelyn Atwood.

John is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lee (Jones) King; children, Janet Schornhorst, Robert King and John Ryan King; step-son, Allen Gregory and wife Kelly; 11 grandchildren, Cody, Emma, Katelyn, Amanda, Krissy, Becky, Bobby, James, Ronnie, Samantha and J.R. and many great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Leonard Dwayne King; 4 sisters, Hazel Williams, Sue Banwart, Rosalie Davis and Mary Massey along with nieces, nephews and many friends.
