Cynthia Maria Laabs (Darmstaedter) passed peacefully into the presence of The Lord on September 29, 2025, at her home in El Dorado Springs, Mo.Born August 21,1947 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the youngest of eight children. One month after meeting her love, she married Jerold A. Laabs on December 11, 1965. During their 50 years of marriage, the couple shared four children together. Not long after her husband’s passing, Cindy left her home in Senatobia, Mississippi and moved to El Dorado Springs, Mo with her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jennifer Laabs.
Cindy had a deep love for her Lord Jesus Christ and was confident that He had prepared a place for her in Heaven. She was a member of The First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed serving others through her love of cooking.She was most known for her loving spirit and witty personality. Whether spending time with family or her dear friends, she always had great stories to share. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many, Cindy will be greatly missed.She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, six siblings, infant son Robert Andrew and infant daughter Dawn Marie. She is survived by two sons, Jerry and Ronald, her loving brother Jack & sister-in-law Judy, six grandchildren, (Brittney, Alex, Cynthia, Matt, Aaron & Alyssa), eight great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 11, 2025 at 4:00 pm, First Baptist Church El Dorado Springs. Final resting place will be with her husband, West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in c/o First Baptist Church El Dorado Springs.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Andrew & Krystal Wyant, the staff at CoxHealth Medical Center South, Nancy & St. Croix Hospice, Sheldon Funeral Home and her bonus grand daughter Lena Quinlin for their loving care during her final days.
