Marylin Catherine Fairchild was born on July 26, 1929, in Martin, Michigan to Dee Marion and Hazel Marks Fairchild. She was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Marylin went to El Dorado Springs High School and worked at Brown’s Shoe Factory for a short time. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker most of her life.
Marylin married Samuel Olay Lewis on March 4, 1948. To this union three sons were born. She loved to cook and bake for her family. Her cookie jar was always full, and she didn’t hesitate to give her grandchildren cookies for breakfast. She lived on multiple wildlife areas most of her married life. She enjoyed cooking wild game.
Her greatest love other than her family was her passion for music. She played the guitar and piano. She always had time to show her grandkids how to play.
Marylin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam, her son Donald Lewis, two brothers Willard and Claude Fairchild.
She is survived by her sons, Gerald Lewis, Norman (Cynthia) Lewis, grandchildren Laura Lewis, Christopher Lewis, Michelle Smith, Julie Boyles, Matthew Lewis and Jamie Lewis, great-grandchildren Cameron, Ashley, Kyle, Devon, Destiny, Zoey, Navy, Jazzley and Gabriel.
