Linda L. Lonkert, 77, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. Born in the quiet town of Osceola, Missouri, in 1948, Linda lived a life rooted in compassion, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. She was the daughter of the late Margaret “Davis” Collins and James W Collins.

Linda is survived by her children, who were the pride and joy of her life: Ronnie, Eugene, David, Tom, Cliff, and her daughter, Velma. She leaves behind a legacy through numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Linda is also survived by her cherished siblings: Sadie Settles and her family of Clinton, MO; Deloris Carroll and family of Clinton, MO; and James Collins, also of Clinton, MO. She also joins in eternal rest her sister “Lou” Mary Louise (Shaffer) and two brothers, Wayne Shaffer and Charles Collins; her dear sister-in-law Brenda Collins; a special aunt, Annabel Bridgewater; her nephew Rick Settles; and her great-niece, Jamie Erin Carroll. She was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews across Missouri and Tennessee, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love for her extended family was abundant and unconditional.

Linda had a gentle spirit and a heart full of grace. She was a strong woman of faith and found joy in the simplest pleasures—time spent with family, the comfort of home-cooked meals, gospel hymns, blooming flowers in springtime, and watching children laugh. Her warmth filled every room she entered, and her guidance and strength were pillars for those who knew her.

She created a home where everyone was welcome and was known for her nurturing soul and listening ear. Her memory will be cherished in the stories passed down, the family traditions kept alive, and the lives she helped shape with love, wisdom, and kindness. Though she has departed this world, Linda L. Lonkert’s love remains eternal—woven into the hearts of her family and friends, and in every life she touched.
