Ramen Lee Messmer was born June 19, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri to James and Joy (Harris) Messmer. He passed away March 25, 2024, in Appleton City, Missouri.
Ramen grew up and went to school in the Kansas City area. He joined the Army in June of 1948 where he served for eight years including, being in Korea during the Korean War. When Ramen got out of the military he worked various jobs throughout Missouri.
Ramen met and married Rosie Petrocco in 1964. They moved to Lowry City, Missouri in 1993 where they lived until Rosie’s passing in 2001. After that Ramen lived in Osceola for a short time before settling in Appleton City, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Rosie, his parents James and Joy, two brothers: Robert and David Messmer, two sisters: Bertha May and Rachel, as well as stepchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Ramen is survived by his sister Shirley and husband Houston Anderson, brother Frank and wife Billie Messmer, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
