Miller, Ruth E. March 10, 1933 - May 19, 2019

Ruth Eloise Miller, 86, of El Dorado Springs, MO, peacefully passed away to her Heavenly home on May 12, 2019 at 4:53 PM. She was born on March 10, 1933 in her Aunt Beatrice’s home in Kansas City, MO, to Charles and Pauline Anderson.

She graduated from Northeast Sr. High in 1951. Ruth then married Charles “Chuck” Miller, her high school sweetheart on July 28, 1951. To this union were three children, Stephen Eugene Miller, who passed away from a short battle with cancer, Connie Sue (Miller) Willis, and Cheryl Ann (Miller) Hubbard.

Ruth was a woman of great faith in Jesus Christ, having accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl. She was led to faith through her mother, grandmother, and Sunday school teacher. She was a long time member of the Church of God Holiness in El Dorado Springs, MO. In the exact words of Ruth, “There is nothing more important than eternal security – knowing that you are saved and a child of God, death is not the end of life, it is the beginning of life!”

If we could only use one word to describe Ruth, it would have to be the word “faithful”. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and follower of Jesus. Ruth was a Proverbs 31 woman, a homemaker who was always busy serving and loving others. She was always faithful to pray for her friends and family. In fact, her prayers are the reason that many of her family members are serving the Lord today. She loved having company and would always make sure they were all well fed and well loved. Ruth had a way of making you feel special and was always an encourager. Her favorite hobbies were reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, cooking meals and treats for others, walking, going to church, being with her friends and family, and was known as the “garage sale queen”.

One of her favorite Psalms was Psalm 23, which conclude what she is experiencing now: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”

Ruth also had a love for old hymns. A few amount her favorites were, “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace”, and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”.

She was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Anderson; father Charles Gentry Anderson; brothers Marvin Anderson and Bob Anderson; and her son Stephen E. Miller.

Ruth is survived by her husband Charles “Chuck” of the home; two children Connie Willis and husband Calvin Willis of Parker, Colorado, and Cheryl Hubbard and husband Jeff Hubbard of El Dorado Springs, MO; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; nieces; nephews; and friends.

Following mere minutes of Ruth’s passing we were greeted with a beautiful double rainbow from the East which was a sweet reminder that God keeps His promises and that He is faithful!
