Motley, Lyle Curtis

 

Lyle Curtis Motley was born December 3, 1924 to Dale and Myrtle (Wingfield) Motley.  He passed away at his home in Clinton, Missouri March 13, 2021.

He graduated high school in 1943 and joined the United States Army July 21, 1943.  Curtis served his country proudly until his honorable discharge in November of 1945.  He was awarded five bronze starts and the good conduct medal.

On April 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to George Ann Anderson.  They were married 45 years.  This union was blessed with two daughters, Kay Cekuta and Kared Barden.

Curtis loved the outdoors and he lived a long, happy life.  He loved all of his family very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, George Ann; daughter, Kay Cekuta and a nephew, Joe Dale Teer.

Curtis is survived by his daughter, Karen Barden; significant other of 24 years, Nancy Nelson; 6 grandchildren, Robin Bogle (Tim), Alfy New (Adriane), Curtis New, Jeri Kay Smith (Ronnie), Jason New (Aeriel) and Katie Barden; 16 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Pati Teer; 2 nieces, P.J. and Traci; great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
