CMSGT Grover H. Parks, USAF (Retired) passed away at the age of 80 on April 30, 2016 at his home in LeFeria, Texas. He was born in Osceola, Missouri on June 23, 1935 to Homer Henry and Ruby May (Hall) Parks.
Grover entered the United States Air Force on December 3, 1953 and retired on August 31, 1974. He achieved the highest enlisted rank in 1969 with his selection to Chief Master Sergeant. His career as a radar maintenance superintendent took him to Alaska, Canada, Thailand, Germany, Nationalist China and many bases in the United States. Grover received many military honors including 4 Defense Department Meritorious Service Medals. His many honors and achievements were a great source of satisfaction throughout his life.
After retirement from the United States Air Force he graduated from Central Missouri State University with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. After serving 9 years as the Executive Director of the Clinton Missouri Housing Authority he retired a second time in 1994.
He was a member of the Roscoe Christian Church, Air Force Sergeants Association, VFW, DAV and many other organizations
Grover was married to Norma N. Ault in 1954 and to this union 4 sons were born, Curtis, Clifford, Randy and David. He married his wife Carol in 2006.
He and Carol became winter Texans several years ago and seasonally alternated living in Deepwater, Missouri and LeFeria, Texas.
Grover was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Norma; his son Randy and his sister Carmen Lee..
He is survived by his wife Carol, of the home; sons, Curtis and wife Stella of Raytown, Missouri, Clifford and wife Michele of Bella Vista, Arkansas and David of Deepwater, Missouri; grandchildren, Garrett, Travis, Erin and husband Kevin Moore, Angela, Ashlyn and Jameson; step-daughters, Ginger husband Jason Honderick and Sherry and husband Jerimi Canaday; step-grandchildren, Justin, Ashley and Gracie; brother, John and wife Donna of Flemington, Missouri along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
