Kimberly Annette Query, age 52, was born June 11, 1972 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri to Leonard Byrne Query and Bonnie Carol (Greathouse) Query. Kimberly gently passed from this life to her eternal home on September 27, 2024 at 4:50 AM.

From her earliest days, Kimberly displayed a passion for living life to the fullest of her abilities. She loved wholeheartedly, laughed exuberantly, strongly made her wants known, and continuously learned all that she could. Growing up in a minister’s home meant  the family moved frequently, and Kim always took this in stride. With every move, Kim would be the first to find all the neighborhood cats, discover any houses with babies, and unapologetically introduce herself to anyone and everyone.

During Kim’s kindergarten year, it was discovered that she struggled with traditional learning and as a result, she spent the bulk of her educational years in Special Education classes. Kim’s official disability labels were; intellectual learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorder, as well as the medical issues of a seizure disorder and celiac disease.  Over the years, Kim had a variety of excellent teachers and staff that fostered her passion for learning. Kimberly graduated high school May of 1993 at the age of 20 from Blue Valley North High School  in Overland Park, Kansas.

During high school and on into adulthood, Kimberly worked a variety of jobs, stocking shelves at Price Chopper in Stanley, KS, cleaning tables at Taco Bell in Excelsior Springs, MO,  collating and/or shredding papers along with a variety of other activities at Quality Products in Nevada, MO. In recent years with her adult day program, Kim volunteered at a local thrift store and a local pet store in Liberty, MO.

One of Kimberly’s greatest joys was music; especially singing. From toddlerhood right up into adulthood, Kim enjoyed sharing her singing. The sharing began as a little girl singing specials with her parents and sister in church, then grew to performing in children’s choir productions and high school choirs, and throughout the years, many private living room concerts were given for anyone that took the time to listen. Most recently, Kim has enjoyed singing along with karaoke time at My Day (adult day program). Kim would also be the one raising her hands in worship and crying right along as the church congregation sang the old hymns.

Kim loved Jesus. She spent many hours playing the piano, in her unique way, and singing all the songs in the Hymnal. Kimberly enjoyed reading her Bible and especially liked someone to read it to her. Kim often talked about seeing Jesus and talking with him and sharing with others  that he kept her safe and loved her most.

Kimberly loved people. Her people included her family, her friends, her caregivers, and even strangers at times. Even if she had not seen someone for a while, when she talked about or to the person, the conversation was often followed with, “I still love you.” We all still love Kim. She will be kept closely in our hearts and memories until the day she greets us in Heaven, standing  next to Jesus and her Daddy, holding all the cats and babies, and directing the Heavenly Choir.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Byrne Query;  maternal grandparents, Wilber and Maggie Lee Greathouse; paternal grandparents, Ross and Frances Query; and a beloved uncle that spent many hours with her, J.V. Greathouse.

Kimberly is survived by her mother, Bonnie Carol Query; sister, Carolyn Rachelle Jeffrey (Paul); niece, Christina Rachelle Vogler; and nephew, Shawn Michael Vogler II; as well as many other very special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
