Alpha Loretta Reaves, 90, passed away July 6, 2015 at the Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton, Missouri.
Alpha was born on February 14, 1925 in Phelps County, Missouri to Henry and Thursie (Edgmond) Wilson. She married James Monroe Reaves of Elkland, Missouri on November 6, 1941. To this union were two sons born, Carl Wayne Reaves and Dennis Dwight Reaves. After James Reaves was discharged from the army at the end of World War II they lived and worked in Kansas City, Missouri until they purchased a farm in 1950 in the Pacetown area south of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, where they resided and raised Angus cattle as long as their health allowed. In order to support the family and the farm Alpha worked many years at the shirt factory and later at the nursing home in El Dorado Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Reaves in 2012, her parents, her son Carl, who died in 1961 at age 18 and brothers Henry Arthur Wilson and Arlie Wilson. Alpha Reaves is survived by son Dennis and his wife Glenda, of Stockton, Missouri, three grandsons, Derek Reaves and wife Meredith, of Rogers, Arkansas, Devin Reaves and wife Susan of Rogers, Arkansas, Bryan Reaves of Springfield, Missouri and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Dorsie Wilson of Versailles, Missouri and Jack Wilson of Olean, Missouri and by sister Bonnie Jarrett of Jefferson City, Missouri, and numerous nephews and nieces.
