Mary (Francie) Roberts, was born October 21, 1957, in Osceola, Mo. to Virgal Leo and Mary B Baxter. She went to her heavenly home on January 3, 2024. Mary grew up with her three brothers, Mark Kirby Baxter, David Leo Baxter, and James (Kevin) Baxter.
Mary grew up in the Bearcreek area of Osceola, Mo., and attended Osceola schools, where she met the love of her life in 1973 while working at the civic theater on the square. They married on April 4, 1975, and were inseparable ever since.
She was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables. A big deer hunter and fisherman. She loved riding horses, ATVs, and motorcycles, and taking trips with her great-granddaughter on the buggy down to the lake or just out to cut firewood. And when not busy with those things or family she was always on the hunt for new black bear figures to add to the collection or looking for strange and unusual rocks to bring home.
She spent many years taking care of people in the area as a nurse’s aide at Truman Lake Manor and the Sac Osage Hospital. She also worked for 17 years at the St.Clair County jail keeping everyone in line and on their toes.
She was kept busy also helping to take care of a few special kids who lost their families and needed a bit of a hand to finish growing up to be thoughtful caring adults.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Kevin Baxter, and her great-grandson Alex Saunders.
Mary is survived by her husband Dale Marten Roberts, Daughter Rebecca Ann Saunders, and husband Yancey Saunders, Son Dale Allen Roberts, and wife Lisa.
Grandchildren, Zackery Wayne Saunders, Draven Alexander Saunders, Rachael Dawn Roberts
Great-granddaughter Shana Nicole Saunders.
There will be a dinner after the service at the Bearcreek church. All is welcome to attend. Thank you.
