Shelby, Connie Louise May 31, 1956 - June 12, 2025

Connie Louise Reno peacefully went to be with our heavenly savior on June 12, 2025. She was surrounded by family and friends. Connie was born on May 31, 1956, in Collins, Missouri to Charles and Louise Reno. She was the youngest of four children. Connie grew up in the Collins area, attended Collins grade school, and graduated from Weaubleau High School.

Connie was saved as a child and baptized in Coon Creek. In a special memory, her mother sewed weights into her dress to hep keep it in place during the baptism. Connie attended church regularly throughout her life, always finding a church home wherever she lived.

After high school, Connie worked as a waitress to put herself through cosmetology school and then worked as a hairstylist for many years.

In 1976, she married Tommy Roeder and together they had two children, Casey and Tony. Connie and Tommy were very involved in their children’s activities, attending local sporting events, helping with the booster club, and taking family vacations. Tommy passed away in 2004.

Connie later began a career in banking, working for over 30 years. She began her career at Citizens Union State Bank and then spent most of her career at St. Clair County State Bank where she formed many strong friendships with coworkers and customers.

In May 2008, Connie married Jerry Shelby. She gained additional children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved as her own. Connie and Jerry enjoyed traveling, watching Cardinals baseball, attending bluegrass festivals, and spending time with her family.

Connie was a true reflection of the Proverbs 31 woman, living with wisdom, strength, faith, and a servant’s heart. She was a steady presence in the lives of her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Reno, and her husband Tommy Roeder.

Connie is survived by her husband, Jerry, her brothers, Herb (LaDonna) Reno, Kenneth “Larry” (Terry) Reno, and Darrel (Mary Sue) Reno, her children, Casey (Andrew), Tony (Lindsay), Brett (Donna), Jerri Lynn (Kent), and Brandon (Sonia). Also, 19 grandchildren, Alex Colin, Cooper, Jocelyn, Gabriel, Eran (Andy), Evan (Emily), Adam (Brittany), Morgan (Jacob), Lauren (Tyler), Reagan (Jared), Kyra, and Kobe. Ten great-grandchildren, Piper, Porter, Hattie Hallie, Emery, Sadie, Gus, Isla, Tripp, and Miller.

She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
