Smith, Ronald Lee October 7, 1934 - May 20, 2025

Ronald Lee Smith, 90, of Lowry City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Bolivar, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 7, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ron lived a remarkable life shaped by service, craftsmanship, and enduring love.

At just 17 years old, Ron enlisted in the United States Navy, serving with distinction aboard the USS Tingey during the Korean War. The discipline and resilience he cultivated during his four years of military service would guide him throughout his life.

Following his service, Ron made his way to Los Angeles, California, where he brought his talents to the world of cinema as a Special Effects Electrician. He worked on sets for both MGM Studios and Disney, contributing his technical skills to the magic of filmmaking. Beyond the studio, Ron built a reputation as a skilled electrician and carpenter, even building homes with his own hands—a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship.

Eventually, Ron returned to Oklahoma, where he met Marvelle Brock. Their marriage became a loving partnership that lasted more than 50 years, built on devotion, commitment, and deep companionship.

Later settling in Missouri, Ron discovered a passion for raising and selling mules. Buyers from all across the United States sought out his mules, drawn not just by the quality of his animals but by the integrity of the man behind them. Whether tending to livestock or working hard on the farm, Ron was always in motion—working, building, and finding joy in honest labor.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Marvelle Smith; his children Kimberly Livingston, Michael Middleton, Cory Smith, and Kevin Smith; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy. He was a man of strong values and humble wisdom.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Ron requested no fanfare and wished to be cremated, desiring a quiet farewell in keeping with the modest, hardworking life he led.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
