Charles P. Springstube was born July 22, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to Louis Springstube and Lucy (Fulton) Springstube. He passed away November 25, 2018 in Lowry City, Missouri.
He had three brothers, Roy, Frank and Louis and one sister, Norma. Charles graduated from Northeast High School of Kansas City, Missouri in 1944. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Navy in the Philippines area during 1944 to 1946. He later went to Missouri School of Mines which is now University of Missouri Science and Technology at Rolla and earned a Mechanical engineer degree.
Following his time at Missouri S & T he was employed by Pritrchard Engineering Company of Kansas City, Missouri. He later designed and built water tower coolers and eventually sold that company to his partner. His next venture was designing and building several A-frame cottages. Charles was employed by the Department of Defense working in Wichita, Kansas and Springfield, Missouri until his retirement. After retirement he moved to the family farm near Osceola, Missouri.
While Charles was working in Wichita, Kansas he learned to fly, making flight trips between Wichita and Osceola. After retirement he was an avid motor home traveler. He took numerous trips to rocky mountains of Colorado, to Arkansas and Iowa, as well to Padre Island, Texas.
Charles developed Alzheimer’s after his wife Betty passed away. His home became Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Letha (2002), his wife Betty (2016); brothers, Roy, Frank and Louis (Louie)
Charles is survived by Letha’s daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Noble Callaway of Sedgwick, Kansas; Betty’s children, Ronnie of Bolivar, Missouri, Bobby and Peggy Burrow and Judy Byrne, all of Osceola, Missouri; sister, Norma Taylor of Osceola, Missouri, along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
