Suiter, Vivian

Vivian Jessie Suiter was born December 17, 1922 in Quincy, Missouri to William and Addie (Young) Dietz.  She passed away at her home October 10, 2020.

She graduated from Weaubleau High School in 1940.  She earned her teaching certificate from Southwest Baptist College and taught in the Concord and Union one room school houses.

On August 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to W.C. Suiter in Harrison, Arkansas.  They had two daughters, Janalee and Janice.  They made their home in the Hickory and Benton County area during their 61 years together.

Throughout Vivian’s lifetime she was a person of faith, kindness and love to all who knew her.  She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 17 and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church for 80 years serving as church clerk, Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and faithful prayer warrior.

Vivian gave selflessly of her time, energy and talents.  She enjoyed making quilts, giving gifts to her family along with preparing meals and serving others.  She made everyone feel loved and welcomed when they walked through her door.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister and three brothers.

Vivians family was her pride and joy.  Each one was precious to her.  She leaves two daughters, Janalee Sherman and husband Francis; Janice and husband Marc; seven grandchildren, Alicia Sherman, Duane Sherman, Darrin Sherman and wife Stacy, Andrea Howe and husband Jeff, Sara Nunez and husband Julian, Luke Cooper and wife Sandhya, Leah Durnell and husband Zach; fifteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the CMH Hospice staff and Vivian’s compassionate caregivers.  We are grateful that with the help of Ramona, Alana and Cheryl, she was able to remain in the comfort of her home.
