Shirley J. Harmon Teegarden, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away February 5, 2025, in Orange Park, Florida. She was born in Liberty, Missouri, November 2, 1940, to Carl and Gertrude (Farris) Harmon.
On October 26, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Lee Teegarden, a union which lasted 57 years. Besides being a loving wife and mother, Shirley enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crafting. She was very creative when it came to her crafts. One thing that she was particularly proud of was her huge teapot collection. She bought some and many were given to her by friends and family. She loved showing them to guests. Truth be known, her favorite song was probably “I’m a little teapot.” Shirley was very happy when she found Jesus and was baptized at Vista Baptist Church.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, three brothers, and one grandson.
She is survived by her sister Joyce Becker of Orange Park, Florida, brother Raymond Harmon of Portland, Missouri, 3 children: Mitchell and Audrey Teegarden of Kansas City, Missouri, Sandy Teegarden of Bryan, Texas, and Joe and Susie Walker of Collins, Missouri. Shirley is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
