Barbara Ann Tilley was born on April 6, 1941 to Ord K. and Dorothy Brown in Lamar, Colorado. She married Doyle Tilley on July 13, 1963 in Blytheville, Arkansas and to this union two children were born.
She was a devoted housewife following Doyle in his service to the country in the United States Air Force.
Upon his retirement in 1980 they moved to Collins, Missouri where she resided until her death.
She had a thirst for knowledge. After her son’s graduated from high school she decided complete her education. She attended Kansas State University as a resident student before transferring to Central Missouri State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology on December 16, 1988.
Following Doyle’s death, she became active in the community serving on the Collins volunteer Fire Department. She also worked as a reporter for the Saint Clair County Courier and with a local business restoring antique trunks.
In her spare time, she enjoyed making stained glass and even sold a few pieces. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble where many quality hours were spent around the table and numerous heated arguments ensued.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Jean.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Tilley and wife Melodie of Lenexa, Kansas, Trevor Tilley and wife Krissy of Goodman, Missouri, two grandsons, Cannon and Tyler, one granddaughter, Hannah, and one brother Oren of Foothill Ranch, California.
