Wisner, Juanita V. August 9, 1933 - February 16, 2020

Juanita Virginia Smith Wisner was born to William Walter and Edith Elmina Gardner Smith on August 9, 1933, at Senath, MO.  She passed from this earth on February 16, 2020 at Hermitage Nursing and Rehab.  She was a farm wife and antique dealer, establishing Wisner’s Antiques and Flea Market after her children were raised.

The Smith family moved back to St. Clair County in 1946 after living near Senath and Allen Island in the Missouri Bootheel and Paragould, AR.  Juanita enjoyed playing basketball and being in the annual Christmas pageant during her high school years.   She worked at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp and the Osceola Bus Station Café as a teen.  Juanita graduated from Osceola High School in 1952.

She and Pawle Wisner were married by Bro. Albert Gaston on July 9, 1952 in Flippin, AR.  Pawle preceded her in death on April 15, 2003.

They were blessed with three children:  Curtis, Regina, and Kevin.

Juanita worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City and at Scarbrough’s Department Store in Austin, TX while Pawle was in the U.S. Air Force.

Juanita was most of all proud of her family and devoted to “the Good Lord.”  She was baptized in the Osceola First Baptist Church baptistery in 1957.  Her membership was in the Vista Baptist Church at the time of her passing.  She faithfully served as a teacher in Sunbeams, VBS, and Sunday School and in the church choir.  She learned to love music at tent revivals and camp meetings and as her family sang together.  Juanita was active and athletic shooting hoops with the great-grands in her 80’s.

She was a project leader for the Happy-Go-Lucky 4-H club and past member of the Osceola PTA and Osceola Chamber of Commerce.  Juanita went to Auctioneer School in 1993 and earned her license.  She was a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau and the Thomas Hart Benton Chapter of the DAR.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine sisters:  Helen Swain, Ruth Jelks Fields, Lillie Wisdom Mattingly, Audrey Wisdom Lassley, Annabelle (in infancy), Edith Burkett Pulis, Ivy Harmon, Katie Harmon, Ruby Ledford Cast and one brother Cleo Smith. She is survived by her children:  Curtis (Lucinda) Wisner, Regina (Mark) Brownlee, and Kevin (Sharon) Wisner, grandchildren:  James (Jamie) Brownlee, Larry (Christl) Brownlee, Colleen Hubbard, Daniel (Shelby) Wisner, Mat (KaLee) Wisner, and Nathan (Shelby) Brownlee, great-grandchildren:   Braxton, Brooklyn, and Brhett Anna Brownlee, Hunter and Kyler Foley, Truman and Lydia Wisner,  Ben and Ada Wisner,  and two  soon-to-be plus many nieces, nephews, and friends.
