Alexander, Ronald Earl September 23, 2023 - October 1, 2012

Ronald Earl Alexander, 65, of El Dorado Springs, was born in Nevada, Missouri on January 6, 1947 to Ronald L. and Lacy (Chastain) Alexander and went to meet his Savior on October 1, 2012. Ronald Earl, also known to his friends as Ronnie, grew up in the Tiffin area. He attended grade school through high school at El Dorado Springs. During that time, he also attended Tiffin Baptist Church where he was baptized at the age of 12. Ronnie became a charter member of Speedwell Baptist Church when it was built in 1975. Ronnie was an active member of Speedwell at the time of his death. Ronnie was destined to be a truck driver. At the age of 5, he would get up early to go ride with his dad, even skipping school on occasion to ride in the big old truck. He started trucking at the age of 16, again with his dad. During his years as a truck driver, he made a lot of friends and went a lot of places, trucking from the west side of Texas through Kansas and back to Missouri. When not working on the road, he liked to buy and sell cars or tinker at his shop. On August 8, 1965, Ronnie was united in marriage to Shirley Welton. To this union, three children were born. In 2001, Ronnie was united in marriage to Patti (Julian) Leonard on October 27. Through this union, he added two sons to his family. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his family whether talking about old times or watching his grandkids ride four wheelers and go carts in the yard. He didn’t talk a lot, but was a great source of advice when needed and a wonderful Christian role model for his family. Survivors include his wife, Patti, of the home; his parents, Ronald and Christine Alexander – El Dorado Springs and Lacy Casey – El Dorado Springs; his children, Jamie Alexander and his wife, Patti – Nevada; Bill Alexander and his wife, Alison – Harwood; Tonya (Alexander) Hooper and her husband, Alan – El Dorado Springs; his step-sons, Darin Leonard and his wife, Susan – Eureka and Brad Leonard and his wife, Amy – El Dorado Springs; his siblings, Rhonda (Alexander) Boch and her husband, Mark – El Dorado Springs; Gary Alexander and his wife, Colleen – Springfield; Pam (Alexander) Julian – El Dorado Springs; Bonnie Jeanne (Alexander) Taylor and her husband, Carl – El Dorado Springs; his grand-children, Shawna Erwin and her husband, Quent, Jerrod Alexander, Andrea Alexander, Ashten Alexander, Kylie Jo Alexander, Brett Alexander, Courtney Hooper, Roy Hooper, Madison Leonard, Michael Leonard, MaryAnn Leonard, Baby Leonard arriving in December 2012, Brady Leonard, Kylee Thomason, Brooke Reed, and Paige Walker; great-grandchildren, Brinley Erwin, Briar Erwin, and Baby Danner arriving in November 2012. Ronnie is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
