Donald Leroy “Buck” Barker, age 53, passed away at his home in El Dorado Springs, MO, on Saturday, April 6, 2019. He was born on April 25, 1965 in El Dorado Springs, MO, the oldest child of Emory and Iva Barker.
Buck graduated from El Dorado Springs in 1983, then traveled around the country installing telephone and computer systems but eventually returned home to El Dorado Springs. He had many jobs over the years including carpenter, carpet layer, hanging siding, and trimming trees among many others.
He loved the outdoors, arrowhead hunting and fishing were his favorite past times. His nieces and nephews all have great memories and stories of their adventures with Uncle Buck tracking deer, hunting mushrooms and wading the creek. Buck lived a happy care-free life and he always wore a mischievous smile and had a laugh that was contagious. He never met a stranger.
Buck was dearly loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his dad, Emory Barker; his grandparents, Lester and Ted Barker and Willie and Iva Shaner.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Iva and Donnie Drake; brother, Doyle Barker and wife, Shannon, of Windsor, MO; sister, Carolyn Loane and partner, Kevin Humphrey, of El Dorado Springs, MO; two step brothers, Larry and Ronnie Drake of Vista, MO; three nieces, Monica Barker, Adriana Barker, and Shelbie Loane; two nephews, Nick Barker and Colton Loane; one great nephew, Jayden Lara; two great nieces, Emory Loane and Olivia Allen; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
