Shirley (Holtgrewe) Beeghly was born in 1939 to Virgil and Inez Routh of Crocker, Missouri where she lived, met and married Gene Holtgrewe. To this union 2 sons were born, Donnie Gene Holtgrewe and Billy William Charles Holtgrewe. In 1979 she adopted and raised her daughter Elizabeth Ann (Holtgrewe) Lippa. She passed away August 22, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 2004 she married the “love of her life” and best friend Calvin Beeghly of Chilhowee, Missouri. They spent 13 wonderful years together before she went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In her lifetime, she made many friends and enjoyed many different activities. She worked with the 4-H kids in and around her home in Roscoe, Missouri. She became an artist having painted many paintings that continue to adorn walls throughout Missouri and beyond. One of her most memorable moments in her painting career was meeting and painting with Bob Ross, the man with “Happy little trees”
She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Inez Routh; older sister, Clarice Routh and her youngest son, Billy William Charles Holtgrewe.
Shirley is survived by her husband Calvin Beeghly of Chillhowee, Missouri; oldest son, Donnie Holtgrewe of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Elizabeth Lippa of Dallas, Texas; step-daughter Pam Eckerel of Pair Blossum, California; daughter-in-law, Laurie Holtgrewe; her 2 granddaughters; Christina Holtgrewe and Tammy Holtgrewe, all of Roscoe, Missouri; 3 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Janelle and Breckin Lippa along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts.
