Roy D. Bishop was born September 30, 1948 in Clinton, Missouri to R.D. Bishop and Virginia Ruth (Keeton) Bishop. He passed away at the Northwood Hills care center in Humansville, Missouri January 15, 2016. Memorial services are pending with the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola at this time.
He attended elementary school in Rainey and Osceola and graduated high school from the Kansas City School District. After High School Roy served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970 where he recieved the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation 1st medal, Air Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Roy enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool and visiting with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Ruth Bishop; 1 brother, Melvin Bishop and 1 sister Dorothy Ann
Roy is survived by 2 daughters, Angela Jackson and Heather North; 2 son-in-laws Curtis Jackson and Chris North; 4 grandchildren, Ashton, Cole, Jackson and Ada; 1 great grandson, Grady; 2 sisters, Sharon Short Sisk and Mary Jo McBride and many neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
