Virginia “Ruth” Bishop came into this world on November 16, 1923 to John and Grace Keeton. She went to her heavenly home on May 19, 2013. She married Charles “Bill” Short on July 4, 1941 and to this union Mary Jo and Sharon were born. “Bill” was killed in WWII in 1944. On December 7, 1945 she married R.D. Bishop and along came Dorothy Ann and Roy Dale. Ruth worked for Sac-Osage Hospital for 34 years, volunteered as dispatch at the jail for a short time and was a member of the Hospital Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Grace Keeton; “Bill” Short, R.D. Bishop;1 daughter, Dorothy Ann; 2 sisters, Opal and Rose: 1 brother, George; 1 step-son, Melvin and 1 great-grandson, Robert Wayne. Ruth is survived by 2 sisters, Ruby Shirk and Dorothy Witt; 3 brothers, Jack, Bill and Glen Keeton; 2 daughters, Mary Jo McBride and Sharon Short Sisk; 1 son Roy Bishop; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and a host of friends. She will be missed by all of us.
