Winnie Lorene (Wright) Brack passed away Sunday August 28, 2011 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, MO. She was born on May 8, 1920 in Valhalla, Missouri to Reverend Elmer Patterson Wright and Edna Mae (Foster) Wright. She was the fourth of nine children. Winnie attended Bolivar and Lowry City Schools and graduated from Lowry City High School in 1939. She graduated from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri in 1941. Winnie worked for the U.S. Postal Service as Postmistress in Lowry City during WW II. She worked for the Missouri Division of Family Services in Osceola, Missouri for 25 years retiring in 1987. Winnie married John Howard Brack, Sr. on October 17, 1945 in Lowry City. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage. To this union five children were born, a daughter Marilyn Kay Brack Barnes and sons, John Howard Brack, Jr., Frank Charles Brack, Warren Henry Brack and Paul David Brack. After her husband died, Winnie moved to Clinton, Missouri. During her senior years, she enjoyed taking many trips across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. She also enjoyed walking at the Benson Community Center and meeting with her coffee klatsch. Winnie accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at Lowry City Baptist Church in November 1934. She was baptized in the Osage River at the old Brown’s Ford Bridge with 16 other new believers including her sisters Leta and Clarice by their father Rev. Elmer Wright. At her passing, Winnie was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, a son Warren Henry Brack, an infant sister, brothers Edmond Francis Wright, Lorenzo Hiram Wright, Elmer Patterson Wright, Jr., Melford Davis Wright and sister Ila Zella Osborn. Winnie is survived by her daughter Marilyn Barnes and husband Larry of San Antonio, TX. and sons John Howard Brack, Jr. and wife Clarenita of Overland Park, KS. Frank Charles Brack and wife Jonetta of Clinton, MO, and Paul David Brack and wife Jeffra of St Charles, MO. She is also survived by two sisters, Leta Grace Baker of Lone Jack, MO. Clarice Pauline Arnsmeyer and her husband Harold of Kansas City, MO, her sisters-in-law Marie Wright of Clinton, MO and Janice Wright of Gladstone, MO. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and good friends. She shall be sorely missed.
