Brattin, Darrell D. January 24, 1962 - July 11, 2012

Darrell Dean Brattin was born on January 24, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Nova Brattin. He passed away on July 11, 2012 at Research Medical Center do to complications of esophageal cancer.

Darrell Joined the Army when he was 18 and was honorably discharged. He obtained his GED while in the service. After leaving the service Darrell went to work for the Local 101 with his Father as a Crain Operator. Darrell also enjoyed working with wood products; he made clocks and other furniture. His last job was at a furniture making shop in Gardner, Kansas.

Darrell enjoyed playing the guitar and all kinds of music.

Darrell was to some as “BIG D”, if you were a friend of Darrell’s you were a friend for life, he enjoyed helping people when he could and many of them have a favorite story or memory about him.

After spending sometime at the “Iron Bar Hotel”, Darrell was fast to pick up on the modern technology; he loved his phones and enjoyed Facebook to keep in touch with who he wanted to stay in contact with.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father Robert Dean, his paternal grandparents Jack and Magaret Hardy, his maternal grandparents Bert and Gertie Houston.

He is survived by his mother, Nova Brattin of Osceola, Missouri; brothers Ron (Kimberly) Brattin of Oxnard, California, Ken (Cathy) Brattin of Overland Park, Kansas and sister Debra Fieth of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; nephews Brian Fieth, Ron James Brattin, and Mitchell Brattin; niece Kelsey Rae Brattin and great nephews Gabriel and Jayson Brattin; Aunt Patty (Doug) Clark and Uncle JB (Nancy) Houston and many “cuz’s”

“Big D” also leaves behind close friends Billy Woods, Leroy and Jeannie Thomas, Deborah Flores and his Gardner, Kansas friends, his last visit with his sister, he said “I have had good times, I have had really bad times, ad I have had really good times, and now my life is in someone else’s hands, isle of view sis.”

Darrell lead his life as he wanted, Made choices as he wanted and paid the price for some of the choices he made in life. Darrell had many friends from all walks of life.
