Mildred H. Brownlee was born April 17, 1932 in rural Henry County, MO, to Rolla S. and Thelma E. (Watson) Richeson. She passed away February 21, 2012 in Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, MO.
Mildred graduated from Lowry City High School in 1950. After graduation Mildred worked as waitress at Wiley’s Café in Clinton, MO. In 1954 her future husband, Thomas W. Brownlee returned from serving his country in the Army. They were united in marriage on May 18, 1956. Mildred and Tom moved to Raytown, MO where they made their home until Tom retired. In 1971 they purchased their farm near Osceola and enjoyed many weekends there until they moved to the farm in 2005.
Mildred attended beauty school, real estate school, and sold Avon for many years. She also managed the rental homes that she and Tom owned. Mildred and Tom enjoyed spending many winter months in southern Texas. She enjoyed fishing, and purchasing antiques and jewelry.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim Richeson and Larry E. Richeson and sister, Betty Lou Stapleton.
She is survived by her loving husband Tom, of the home, daughter Patricia Lee Lowe and husband David, Lee’s Summit, MO; grandson, Jeffery Lowe, Lee’s Summit, MO; three sisters, Georgia Lawson, Clinton, MO, Debbie Knox, Grain Valley, MO and Peggy Croghan, St. Louis, MO, other relatives and friends.
