“Buster” Breshears, Roy A January 31, 1949 - December 4, 2017

Roy Allen Breshears (Buster), the son of Ralph and Opal (Harris) Breshears, was born on the homestead in Fairfield, MO on January 31, 1949. When Buster was born the doctor had to come out in horse and cart to deliver Buster because his mom was not able to get to the hospital because of all the snow. After birth, Ralph and Opal moved their family to Montrose.

Buster’s first job was at Rotert Ford Garage at the age of 12 where he washed parts and pumped gas for the customers. Buster graduated from Montrose High School in 1967. After graduating, Buster joined the Navy for years.  After serving his country he returned to Roterts as a mechanic where he was sent to school to learn to work on new cars. Three years after becoming mechanic, he was asked to form a partnership with his dad (Ralph Breshears) in their home town garage. Buster retired at his family owned garage in 2015.

He was united in marriage with Margaret (Holcomb) on May 15, 1976, at the First Baptist Church in Clinton, MO. Their life partnership and journey lasted 41 years. Buster and Margaret enjoyed playing cards and going to the Knights Hall with friends and family into the early hours on the weekends. Buster loved to hunt and fish with his father, who passed down his secrets to him, and later Buster would pass down his hunting and fishing secrets down to his boys.

On January 25, 1980, Buster and Margaret were blessed with their first born, Jason Allen Breshears in Clinton, MO. On November 27, 1982, they were blessed with their second child, Mathew Grant Breshears in Clinton, MO.

Buster and Margaret loved to take their sons and grandchildren to Branson and other family vacations. There were many fun memories and shared a lot of laughs over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Opal Breshears, his brothers Ray Allen, Sammy Lee, Ronnie Eugene; one grandson Mathew Lane; Mother-in –law Mary Lou Holcomb; and many uncles and aunts.

Buster’s legacy will be carried forward in the life of his surviving wife Margaret Breshears, Montrose, MO; Sons’ Jason Breshears, (Gulf Port, MS); Mathew Breshears, New Market, IA (companion Heather Kepley, Jewel, IA); Daughter-in-laws’ Melissa Breshears, Ladson, SC; Tammy Breshears, Deepwater, MO; Grandchildren: Caitlyn Hearty, Wichita, KS; Emma and Ray Breshears, Ladson, SC; Zoie Breshears, Deepwater, MO; Cheyenne and Raegan Kepley, Jewell, IA; Father-in-law: Harry Holcomb, Clinton, MO; Brother-in- law Harry and Debbi Holcomb, Lincoln, NE, and children; Sister-in-law: Glenda and Monti Richardson, Warrensburg, MO and children, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
