Cargill, Irvin L. May 26, 1940 - September 12, 2018

Irvin Louie Cargill was born on May 26, 1940 in Cedar County. He was the tenth child of Harry and Vera (Pankey) Cargill. He went to be with Jesus on September 12, 2018. His health had failed since he was injured on the job in 1992. Irvin later suffered from dementia and alzheimers and complications took him home.

He attended West High Point Grade School and Stockton High School for a brief time.

Irvin married Jackie (Clark) Collins on December 10, 1965. To this union two sons were born, Travis and Shawn.

He was a workaholic and belonged to the Labor Union and worked for twentyseven years on construction. His job took him to Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, and all over Missouri.

He gave his heart and life to Jesus in 1975 at a revival in St. Joseph, Missouri. Irvin prayed about everything. As his health failed he loved listening to Gaither’s CDs. Guy Penrod and George Younce were his favorites.

He was a devoted husband and dad. His sons, daughters-in-law, granddaughters and great granddaughter were the most important people in his life.

Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vera (Pankey) Cargill; inlaws, O.D. and Dorothy Collins; brothers, Finis and Coy; sisters, Melva Wallen, Winoma Brown, Fay Julian, and Zelia Houston; sisters-in-law, Marie, Cindy, Evelyn, and Paula; brothers-in-law, Bill Houston and Harold Julian.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Jackie; his sons Travis (and Jamie) and Shawn (and Sherri); grandchildren, Courtney, Alex, Kendadee, Ryan, Callie, Ashton, Colby, Ciara and Colton; great granddaughter Everly; brothers, Valice, Mervin, Ivan, and Arlin; Sisters-in-law, Shirley, Beulah, Connie and Randal Toland, Olin and Betty Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
