Carolyn Joyce Barnes was born November 10, 1936, to Glen and Josephine Ferguson. Joyce was the third of three children born to the Fergusons. She attended school at Osceola.
On January 3 of 1953 she married Jackie Wayne Barnes of Lowry City and became a farm wife. Joyce spent the next 50 plus years working on the farm with her husband and her in laws and during that 50 plus years she gained experience in attending to turkeys, milking dairy cows, taking care of beef cattle, taking care of hogs, raking hay, hauling hay and making hundreds of trips over the years to the MFA grain elevator in Lowry City as well as many other farm responsibilities.
Joyce became the mother of two children Kathy was born January 25 of 1954 and Kevin was born June 13 of 1958.
After Barney passed and she no longer worked on the farm she looked forward every day to going into the Landmark Restaurant and eating lunch with her friends. Joyce enjoyed watching NFL Football. She would watch several games each week. She was a Chiefs fan and was a big fan of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, but she probably never became a Taylor Swift fan. SORRY TAYLOR.
