John Cary was born in Iconium, Missouri in 1933 to Lee S. Cary and Mary Grace (Medlin) Cary. He graduated from Osceola High School and then entered the Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Delores Wilson-Reese and had 4 children and 3 step-children. They lived in Independence, Missouri and he worked for Ford Motor Company. In 1987 he was united in marriage to Ruth Small. John retired in 1989 and they moved back home to Iconium, Missouri where he took care of the family farm, raising cattle and working in the hay fields. John always lent a helping hand to all his neighbors and friends. He was a great husband, father and a devout Christian.
He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and a member of the Warsaw Shrine Club.
John was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Mary Grace Cary; his twin sister Jean Reese; 1 brother, William Cary; 1 daughter Susan K. Hall; 1 step-son, 2 grandsons Justin D. Hall and David R. Bukaty.
John is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; two daughters, Judy Bukaty and her husband Phil of Butler, Missouri. Rachel Cary of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and her friend Paulette Coble; a son Lee Cary and his fiancé Melissa Ligget-Gray of Blue Springs, Missouri; a brother, Robert Cary of Centerview, Missouri; 1 granddaughter, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.
