Dale Hardesty Chadd, 82, of Lowry City, MO, passed away at Community Springs Healthcare Facility in El Dorado Springs, MO, on February 10, 2023. He was born November 29, 1940 to George Hardesty and Ruby Bernice (Richardson) Chadd in Sheldon, MO.
He graduated from Nevada High School in 1958, where he was active in Future Farmers of America. He then moved to Kansas City and worked for Guthrie Motors as an automotive mechanic for twelve years. He then moved to a small farm near El Dorado Springs and worked for Allison Auto Parts. He retired from there after fifteen years following a diagnosis of myasthenia gravis.
Dale loved the outdoors, driving his tractor, checking his cows, and cutting wood. In his younger years he was an auto racing fan and worked on the pit crew for Mike Clark, who raced at the Nevada Speedway and other local speedways. Throughout his life he was also a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. His family were often amused by the fact that it took him awhile to accept the fact that two of his grandsons were Chicago Cubs fans.
Dale was preceded in death by his father George Chadd; mother Ruby Chadd; and brother David Lee Chadd.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Carol Chadd of El Dorado Springs, MO; daughter and son-in-law James and Linda Brown of Hermitage, MO; daughter and son-in-law Bruce and Tina Fry of Montrose, MO; friends Shawn Casey and John Quick of Lowry City, MO; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a niece, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
